Located in Balboa Park, founded in 1928 by George W Marston, the museum of San Diego History is a unique example of culture and community of San Diego.

The Museum is an educational institution dedicated to preserve the historical collections. It is maintained by San Diego Historical Society. Public lectures, workshops and educational programs are presented in the museum's 100- seat Thornton Theater. Various educational programs are conducted for children to explore their interactive skills. Programs include preservation and conservation.

The museum also invites to experience the home of one of San Diego's early leaders, George White Marston. This craftsman style structure is beautifully restored to 1905 and houses a unique collection of turn of the century furniture, art and pottery. Open to the public, the Library offers an opportunity to study include books, newspapers, ephemera, original maps, manuscripts, architectural drawings and public records.

Hours: Daily 10am- 5pm.

Admission Adults: ; Students, Seniors (65+), Military, AAA:
Ages 6- 17: , Ages 5 and under: free
Members get unlimited free admission.
