La Jolla Playhouse

La Jolla Playhouse came into being in the year 1947 by a group of theater artists. The Playhouse has in its credit over 300 honors, including the 1993 Tony award for outstanding regional theatre. Today the theatre has earned its position in the list of international theatre.

Various summer camps are organized for high school students for training students in acting. It offers Scene Study and Monologue , Voice for the Actor , Voice for the Singer , Improvisation , Movement for the Actor , Weekly Master Classes provide one- on- one intensive work with faculty on alignment, breath and relaxation.

The teen acting 8- week class is especially designed for teen actors ages 13- 17 who want a fun and safe place to explore new ways of working on their craft. During this high- energy class, students will stretch their talents by learning basic theatre skills including: improvisation, physical theatre and text analysis.
