Vigorous Outdoor Exercise Threatens Health
San Diego people who do outdoor workout are advised to take about a week-long break, due to the detrimental air particulates from the wildfires. It is found to be of the same characteristics with the air in Ground Zero after 11th of September 2001 in New York.
According to Sharon Guforth, a respiratory therapist, strenuous outdoor exercise can lead to chronic pulmonary problem. She said that the unpurified air can liberally go beneath the lungs.
Trainer Chris Keith had given an alternative in weight management. He focused on diet and low-intensity workouts. He added that the best results come from good eating habits.
A fully air-conditioned gym is another option for those who really do not want to stop doing exhausting exercise.
Perfect Tool for Memory Reinforcement
Study shows that naps enhance mental performance. There were 33 people trained with a stipulated intellectual task. Sixteen took a nap while the remaining stayed awake and watched a movie after. Late afternoon, they were given a test in word, maze and complex line memorization.
It was observed that most of the participants who took a 45-minute midday nap improve their mental functioning. Matthew A. Tucker, lead researcher of the Center for Sleep and Cognition at Harvard Medical School, commented that declarative memory can have greater impact if there is substantial learning.
