Harnold and Dorothy Hoersch opened a 14- stool lunch counter named the Juniper Café with a lofty goal to provide excellent service, good quality food at affordable prices.

The Café was launched in May 1944. With hard work and dedication, the business attained great heights. The exotic Café serves a hearty breakfast with smoked pork chops and eggs, Eggs Benedict, French toast, pancakes, waffles, and much more. Not only does the Café serve fresh baked goods, but also has the take- away delivery so that they can be consumed later on during the day.

Till date, this is San Diego's oldest restaurant in the same location, with the same ownership and management. The Café has earned a good reputation because of its being quality conscience.

The Café serves with a policy that it is everyone‘s responsibility to serve its customers all the better. It works like a service team. Critics representing the Southern California Restaurant Writers Association and other media and industry groups have consistently honored Hob Nob Hill with the highest awards.
