They were formerly called the Los Angeles Chargers and they have been playing since 1960 under the American Football League. The said team was first based in Los Angeles, California and after the first season ended, the club moved to San Diego. Now, the San Diego Chargers are playing under Western Division of the American Football Conference in the National Football League.
