Father Junipero Serra had established his first Mission in 1769 in the chain of 21 missions at this very place. Old Town San Diego is situated in front of the hillside on which Father Serra's Mission and Presidio were built. California's colonization took place afterwards, gradually.

The event ‘International Flavors of Old Town' is organized to enlighten the people about the Old Town Restaurants. This special event is hosted by ‘Old Town Market and Old Town Trolley Tours of San Diego. It presents the historic glory of Old Town.
